And Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead. 1 Timothy 4:1-2 (NLT)
Is the Church being deceived? Should we sing songs from dubious sources? Should we partake in movements created from dubious sources? Should we listen to speakers originating from dubious sources?

Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favourable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. 2 Timothy 4:2-5 (NLT)
Come with an open mind and an open Bible. We will try to really understand what's going on with this movement, what's up with their theology and how we ought to respond to it. By Mike Winger
Bill Johnson’s Theology Movement Examined Biblically
As nice as this music may or may not sound, it is said that these groups have in effect turned into a sect led by the evil one. Their songs can't help but be influenced by this evil. Surely by singing these type of songs we are condoning the evil practices of Bethel (etc.). I hear that Bethel church (etc.) is even associated with the NAR (New Apostolic Reformation) movement. I believe God finds it greatly upsetting and offensive for these type of songs to be sung to Him. Whether we sing them or listen to their songs on radio or wherever, we enable royalties to be sent to them, therefore helping to support them. The Lord has been pointing out to me for some while now about the content of one particular song (Your presence Lord) that some churches sing: Holy Spirit, You are welcome here Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere etc... This song is authored by - Jesus Culture - who I understand originates from Bethel Church. No wonder the Lord has been pointing this song out to me as a problem for ages. We should not summon the Holy Spirit, or summon Him to our atmosphere. He is God, He comes when He wants to, not when we 'summon' Him. We shouldn't summon Him to our 'atmosphere' either. He is a Spirit. He is already everywhere. “Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:24 (NLT) “The Lord is watching everywhere, keeping his eye on both the evil and the good.” Proverbs 15:3 (NLT) “I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night — but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.” Psalm 139:7-12 (NLT) This song (Your presence Lord) is not Biblically correct. True Christians already have the Holy Spirit. "For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them" Matthew 18:20 (NLT) This song is inviting a false holy spirit - the kundalini spirit - a demonic spirit which is known as a counterfeit Holy Spirit. The Lord has also shown me that repetitive singing of verses or choruses over and over again is not of Him. "But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." Matthew 6:7 (KJV) In another song, ‘Reckless Love’ by Bethel Music, its chorus says ‘Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.’ God is never reckless. In fact it is blasphemous to say that.

Amir Tsarfati: Exposing the New Apostolic Reformation The Bible says that the Church was built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Can the Church appoint new apostles and prophets today? What exactly is the New Apostolic Reformation and what dangers does it pose for believers? Who started it? When? Why? Does the Bible confirm this theology? These questions and more in Amir’s special update from Israel.

This of course does not mean that all supernatural happenings are false. There are many Holy Spirit filled supernatural events that are genuine. We have to ask the Holy Spirit to help us discern the difference.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and every impurity. In the same way, on the outside you seem righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” Matthew 23:27-28 (HCSB)
Holy Laughter - True or False If a person does anything (eg. laughter) uncontrollably or negative it is not of the Holy Spirit. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (HCSB) Having said that, if there is controllable laughter, then it could well be from the Holy Spirit, unless the person is putting on the laughter themselves, for whatever reason.
